10:00 Toddler Class

We're happy to see everyone! Ms. Erika started class with a visit to the zoo. She played a felt story song about zoo animals. The children were able to name the animals and their sounds. Can you make animal sounds? What sound does a seal make? How about a snake? What sound does a lion make? What other animal sounds do you know?

Ms. Annie showed us a matching work and listening to the first sounds of the zoo animals. She made some letter cards to match with the animals. You can make your own cards as well. Take some of your favorite animals and say the word. Listen to the first sound. What do you hear? Mom or dad can write the first sound of the word on a piece of paper. Tiger - "t" for tiger. Then, write the name of the animal. Match it with the animal, say the first sound, and look at the word. See what letter it is then say the sound of that letter! Have fun listening to animal sounds and first sounds of words!

10:30 Primary Class

Ms. Monique was happy to see everyone today! Our friends sang with her. After the song, she read Beetle Bop by Denise Fleming. After the story, Ms. Monique showed the life cycle of a ladybug. Can you name the different stages? The egg, larva, pupa, and adult ladybug. In your packet, you will find the printout for the life cycle cards. Ms. Monique suggested you can arrange the cards in sequence and even make a story out of the cards. By retelling and creating a story, you will remember the stages.

Ms. Monique talked about the lines. In your packet, you have a metal inset page. She demonstrated drawing vertical and horizontal lines. Practice drawing these two lines, and it will make that pencil grip strong for letter writing. Start from top to bottom or left to right. You can also use different colors to make your lines. Have fun and please share with us your work!

We had a wonderful class today, hope to see everyone during Music and Spanish class tomorrow!
